Iron Man 2: All Talk and no Mind-blowing Hype

I never watched Iron Man 1 because of my hectic schedule but this Tuesday I compromised going to gym after work and went to Sterland in Pretoria to watch the movie on a discount for only R8.00.
Because we buy in bulk, we can negotiate savings for you an dput the money back in your wallet! Moolah back in your pocket
As always, I went to Shoprite to buy my snacks which included Simba, roar with flavour, Mashmallows, 500 ml Cocacola and Jungle oats bar which all cost less than R25. The Sterkinekor snacks are expensive. I then put the snacks in my gym bag and took them out when I was inside = moolah saving tip people. This is in reply to an article written a while back about how to watch movies on a tight budget.
Lean Robert
With rave reviews of this movie and the movie being everywhere and so much noise being made about it, I expected to see a 5 star classic movie but nope, for me it didn’t live up to the hype.
It must be noted though that Robert Downy Junior gives a good performance as Iron Man and he’s unquestionably, at least according to my observation, a brilliant actor. Samuel L Jackson also gives a great performance. My problem with the movie is lack of creativity and originality. The action is good and actors are brilliant but the originality people. I want to see something new!!!!!!!!!!
Untouchanble machine
Show me originality
Once again, movie directors show that they lack originality and don’t even get me started on creativity. I could see some Superman ideas in the movie, the wand fighting definitely comes from Harry Potter and hai, I don’t know if Harry Potter author JK Rawling is smiling about her wand idea being used in other movies. I don’t know if she will sue because last time she sued a man who wrote a dictionary of the dark magic for Harry Potter fans who wanted to know about things like port key, avadra kadavra, accio, muggles, confundus, relashi (magical spells in Harry Potter).
I can kiss these lips
Scarlet's beauty will mersmerise you while watching the movie and you will keep on asking for more of her
Scarlet Johansson stole the show and the spotlight should have shifted from Robert Downy to her. She plays a superwoman who is untouchable and can kill tsotsis who come in groups of more than 15 people, and she kills them perfect (yeah, remember street fighter R0.50c machine) without her being beaten or anything. The villain of the movie is ugly and was right for the character. The African-American lead actor Don Cheadle should have just stayed away from wearing Iron Man suits because all he did was just cause chaos and trouble for Iron Man’s power.

Don Cheadle
The guy on your top right is Don Cheadle
Iron suit
The theme I could get from the movie is that there is no enemy that you don’t know. The enemy always comes from your team as was the case when one of the actors in some twisted and deranged storyline works with Scarlet Johansson and Scarlet is big buddies with Robert/Iron Man. He hires the villain to help him take down Iron man but the villain ends up not following orders and deriving his revenge plot on Iron and wants to torture and finish Iron Man “in forty minutes than what his family did to him in forty years”. And boy oh boy, he nearly succeeds and he creates fake iron men killing machines and they kill innocent people and want to assassinate Iron Man’s “girlfriend”
This is a story that’s packed with action, humour (The court governor is very good at this one), love, drama, betrayal and plotting.
L Jackson
Samuel L Jackson has a role that's kind of cameo
Because of lack of originality and creativity, I give the movie 3 stars. However, it’s worth leaving your dirty clothes at home on Saturday and go watch it = you shall wash them on Sunday morning.

hm!....i always disagree with people/critics on technicalities when it comes to comic based movies scifi's and epics (i.e Clash of the titans)...im a fan to the core of such, for me its about my love for the stories and i easily forgive the kind of flaws you mention. I always walk out singing praises.
Oh but the last of them to disapoint me was the Superman returns....and i must agree that picture of Iron man with his fist shattering the ground is one of my favourate Clark Kent/Kal al/superman trademarks...

Otherwise, I have been looking forward to ironman 2 for a while now....and after it its Robin Hood..after that i dont quite have anything to look forward to at the top of my brain

PS: thanx for the money saving tips...with all this expensive 3D flicks, its been hard man...

I thought Segololo would have reviewed Why did i get married too by now....i looved it.

@ Green Arrow, The Robin Hood trailer doesn't impress me so I'm not sure whether to watch it or not. I read that Clash of the Titans is a complete let down copmared to the original movie so I didn't want to go watch it. Is Why did I get married too showing already? I haven't seen it on the big screens. Where did you watch it GA?

Why did i get married too: I dont know when it will be released, but I watched it at my friends' last weekend..

Clash of the titans: Most of the reviews i read about it were not positive indeed, but nna i could not even talk after the movie, thats how impressed i was...i wish i can wach this original that they are singing praises about tho'...

Havent watched the Robin Hood trailer, but for now,  the good old story and Russel crowe are my pull.

I know most people dont like remakes...as was the case with COTT and i expect the same complaints with Robin hood, but i always like the modern spin to the stories and what the improved special effects bring to the action etc.....very superficial, but i like that...

And i must say...Robert Downy Junior  has got a manner about him (even in his acting) that reminds me of Al Pacino??...is it just me?

And i also see Shia Labeof taking on Russell Crowe type of roles in future when he is a bit bigger/muscular??...

I quite liked Iron Man 1, will go see this one too. Im also curious to see if anything finally happens between him and Pepper Spots. Was disappointed that the role originally played by Terrence Howard was given to Don Cheadle in the sequel

The thing with Action movies is that people don't really watch for the storyline, but for the action. I also gave Ironman 1 a miss.

Haibo wena, you buy pirated DVDs? But I also do that. I only first watch and if it's a classic (like Avatar)I will buy a pirated copy on the streets. Here in Pretoria it costs R40, eish. But SA good movies I watch on the big screen and then buy the original DVD.
I think I would like my blog to be chatty and not read like some newspaper or magazine story. At least it will set me apart from the rest. Thank you!
