Happy Holidays From TVSA!

Dear TVSA bloggers, community members, readers and passers-by...

We will be suspending official content production on TVSA for a few weeks in order to take a break from what has been a fast, action-packed, exciting and tiring year.

This means there will be no more features, news or informational articles on the site until January, although naturally our bloggers are welcome to continue blogging right throughout the festive season.

We will be taking a short break over Christmas and New Year before returning early in January to work on some much-needed behind-the-scenes developments on the site.

There will be a number of changes and new shiny toys to play with next year - we'll keep you posted on new site developments when we return.

Feature articles will return on a daily basis on Monday 21 January, 2008.

In the meantime, there is still lots to do on TVSA in the holidays. Some bloggers will still be around (why not start your own blog if you're bored?), the forums are available for any TV-related discussion and you can catch up on new shows starting in December and January by visiting the Calendar.

Next year is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years in South African television history, with the four new pay-TV operators bringing a host of new viewing options for those who are tiring of the free-to-air channels, or who want some more variety.

There will be big new local productions on all channels, the return of some old favourites and a bunch of new stars to admire and gossip about.

Hopefully, at any rate. Let's hope it's not just Sasko Louw who turns up.

We'd like to thank everyone who made 2007 such a vibey, fun time on TVSA, from our bloggers to our Moderators to those who engaged in the site in some way, be it through posting, writing or simply reading and having a good chuckle to yourself.

Have a smashing, festive time of it and we'll see you back here next year for fun, tears, laughter, anger and all the other emotions that make TVSA what it is.

Now, where's that damn remote...ah, there it is...goodbye!

2007 provided lows and highs… professionally and personally. Moving my blog to TVSA has proved to be a highlight. Through TVSA I made connections with some extraordinary people. One of them is Meme J. I used (abused?) my TVSA connection with Meme J to secure the release of a 12-year-old boy from prison. Without the media coverage (media pressure?) provided by Meme J’s newspaper, I would not have been able to orchestrate the release of the boy. Thank you Meme J.. thank you very much!
Season Greetings to all TVSA staff and bloggers!

Hi there KFab and BS...  just for now.  Barely has time to read TVSA articles...  late night reading. Trying to round up some admin..  we are working with skeleton staff...
@BS: Yes, I certainly am so greatful for my TVSA connection with Meme J. To get him released,  our lawyer had to apply for emergency review of the sentence.  However, this time of the year,... everybody is on leave.  But Meme J's newspaper provided front page coverage of the saga (three times,.. the controversial sentence,... and the boy tried to commit suicide while in prison and then they covered his release). The media pressure caused some embarresment and I guess holidays were interupted...and viola they reviewed the sentence.  Just like that! The boy was released last week and now he is staying at our organisation until I can find placement for him.  Obviously that is not going to happen during the festive season. I am eternally indebted to Meme J.

Not good with names... but this one I have in my office right now: Exile by Richard North Patterson (in fact anything by Richard North Patterson can be a good read).
I said criminal court novels... but I am also addicted to psychological thrillers.  James Patterson and Jonathan Kellerman....  I am just addicted to them.  I highly recommend Step on a Crack by James Patterson.  And no,.. I do not have a thing for the Patterson surname..  LOL
I've been told by my father that I have really bad taste in books... but I don't care.  The creepier the creeps in the books,...  the better I like it.

Sdakisto where were u? Hi KFab, i am working till 5.

WhiteSockGirl thanks for the info, i am the type gal that does not cough up cash for books all the time, i prefer going to exclusive books during lunch hours and read there (cheap hey) but its very limiting as i only read for an hour and go back to work and the suspense drives me mad as i have to wait for the next day. My trick is to hide the book in a different section in case some dedicated employee decides to remove it from the shelf. On the case of criminal justice, hows Boston Legal by the way i dont have DSTV? and my man James Spader he was very good on the Practice. He was kinda sexy in creepy and weird way. Dylan McDermott was also brilliant, i forgot their onscreen names.

ROFL  That is the funniest thing I've heard in a long time!  How many books did you complete this way?

Boston Legal is OK,..  yes James is quite good.  But somehow,...  I am still missing Practice.  In a league of its own...
I do not like Ally McBeal (Calista something)... that face is just tooo creepy but I watched the series... that strange character (I can't remember his name)... the boss or something and Lucy something ...  I found them quite good.
