Gareth Tjasink is a South African model and actor best known for his appearances in the Archers Aqua ads for being a contestant on Survivor South Africa: Panama.

After completing his schooling Dale College in King Williams Town, Eastern Cape, Tjasink went to the United States where he spent two years studying pre-med, in between working as a model for Tommy Hilfiger.

He returned to South Africa and moved to Cape Town, where he studied medicine at the University of Cape Town. He qualified as a doctor in December 2005, focusing on reconstructive plastic surgery, particularly for people with severe facial disfiguration.

In 2006 Tjasink took up an internship at Chris Hani-Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, in the surgery, and relocated to Johannesburg. He currently resides in Sunninghill.

Tjasink's local modelling career has been a huge success - he was chosen as the Archer's Aqua Guy - Shane - in the television commercials for the product of the same name.

His good looks made him a huge hit with South African women and shortly thereafter he won a competition to appear as Dr James Cawood on long-running M-Net soap opera Egoli, appearing for the first time on 18 May 2006.

In June, 2006 he was cast in Survivor South Africa: Panama. The show premiered on 3 September, 2006 and Tjasink played until the final five He was voted off in Episode 12 and became the third member of the jury.

Tjasink is also a dedicated surfer, making him pretty much the guy you have to take home to your mum.

Besides the Archers Aqua campaigns, Gareth's other modelling credits include:

- Fashion Week Cape Town (2004 and 2005)
- Italian Ferrero Rocher chocolate advertisement (2005)
