Bio
Peter van Kets is a South African extreme adventurer, conservationist, sailor and motivational speaker known for his adventure racing exploits, including his race to the South Pole in 2011-2012 which was captured in the documentary Cold Sweat, which aired on SABC3 in July 2012.
Although he has been part of many expeditions, Pete made his mark in the world of adventure by winning the 5,438km unsupported Atlantic Rowing Race 2007/8 (pairs) with friend Bill Godfrey.
As if rowing the Atlantic once wasn't enough, he returned in early 2010 to place second in the solo category and to become the first African to row any ocean solo and unsupported.
In November 2010, Pete cycled 1,700km through the Namib desert.
He is a father, husband, conservationist, professional adventurer and public speaker.
