Bio
David Webb is an American-born South African television anchor, actor and producer and a music industry professional best known for presenting a variety of news and current affairs programs on the SABC, from 2007-2010.
He was also an M-Net continuity presenter, from 1994-1996.
David attended Cooley High School in Detroit, Michigan from 1970-1977. He worked as a radio anchor in Los Angeles before emigrating to South Africa in 1990.
He has appeared in a number of South African films including There's a Zulu on my Stoep (1994), The Killing of Wendy (2009) and Everyman's Taxi (2010).
He has also acted in numerous television series including Generations, Egoli, Going Up and Soul City.
He joined SABC News in 2007 and aside from presenting news and current affairs shows was also responsible for developing concepts and and angles for news and current affairs as well as editing, script/copywriting and overlay duties.
He was also a development assistant for Snelco PRO (2000-2006), the marketing manager of Viva Hecate Productions (2006-2008) and has been the creative manager and project coordinator for Music Marketing International, since 2000.
Webb has lent his voice to several campaigns, advertisements and shows, including the SABC1 comedy line-up from 2008-2010 and the Lotto Powerball, from 2009-2010.
He has also been MC at a number of events including Standard Bank Joy of Jazz 2009 and the FIFA Fan Fest at the World Cup in Polokwane, in 2010. He also appeared in an infomercial for Home Mark Products in 2010, for the "Store It" product.
David enjoys reading, music, social networking and quality family time.
