Joe Viterelli was an American actor best known for his role as Jelly in the 1999 comedy film Analyze This, and its 2002 sequel, Analyze That.
Viterelli only appeared in three television series - as a guest actor in one episode of Fallen Angels (1993) and in one episode of The Commish in 1994, and as a cast member of the short-lived drama series The Strip (1999).
He did however appear in two made-for-TV movies as well: What She Doesn't Know (1992) and In the Shadow of a Killer (1992).

Before he became an actor, Viterelli's former profession was a businessman in New York City. He befriended director Leo Penn (father of actor Sean Penn), who coaxed him into show business, as Penn felt Viterelli had a unique look.
Viterelli was initially hesitant, but it subsequently led to his 30+ film roles.
Analyze That was his last film, but he was last seen in a 2004 Super Bowl commercial for Staples, in which he portrayed his mafia-esque trademark.
He died just days before it aired, on 28 January 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, due to a severe stomach haemorrhage following heart surgery. He was 66. |

Viterelli was cast three times as a character whose named was prefixed by the description "Fat". His roles were 'Fat Tommy Carducci' in What She Doesn't Know, 'Fat Tony Ragoni' in The Cure For Boredom, and 'Fat Charlie' in Serving Sara. |
