Bio

Peter Hermann is a German/American actor and writer best known for his television roles as Dr. Michael Burke on the soap opera The Guiding Light (1997-1998) and as Trevor Langan on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, since 2002.

Hermann is best known for his six-season recurring role as defence attorney Trevor Langan on NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, where he met his wife, Mariska Hargitay.

He also recently played Tina Fey's ill-fated love interest on 30 Rock. Other television credits include Sex & the City, Law & Order, Standoff, Hope and Faith, Beautiful People and Angela's Eyes.

In 2006 Hermann portrayed Jeremy Glick in the critically acclaimed, award-winning United 93, directed by Paul Greengrass. He regards this role as the most significant project he has been involved with thus far. More recently he appeared in The Treatment, starring Sir Ian Holm and Famke Janssen.

Hermann starred in Eric Bogosian's Tony-nominated revival of Talk Radio at the Longacre Theatre on Broadway. He made his Broadway debut in the National Actors Theatre production of Judgment at Nuremberg, starring Maximilian Schell and directed by John Tillinger.

Other New York stage credits include The Gathering, opposite Theodore Bickel, with additional regional credits as Orsino in Twelfth Night at the Guthrie and Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at Arena Stage in Washington, DC.

Hermann was born in New York to German parents. Two months later the family returned to Germany, where he lived until the age of ten. They then moved back to the U.S., settling in Greenwich, Connecticut.

After graduating from Yale, where he divided his time between the crew team and the stage, he headed for the South Bronx as a part of Teach for America. During the summer break, he would study with the renowned Japanese director Tadashi Suzuki in Toyama, Japan.

He currently lives in New York with his wife and son.
