Lena Headey is an English actress best known for her starring role as Cersei Lannister in the medieval-fantasy television series Game of Thrones. She was previously best known for her starring role as Sarah Connor in the science fiction television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, from 2008-2009.

Headey made her feature film debut in 1992's Waterland, playing the younger version of Jeremy Irons' wife. She was also seen that year in the BBC television movie The Summer House.

In 1993, she appeared in the period drama Century and the award-winning Merchant-Ivory film The Remains of the Day.

Her first leading role came in the live-action version of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. She has starred in the independent films Mrs. Dalloway, Face, Onegin, Gossip, Possession, Ripley's Game and The Actors.

Headey also has starred in a wide range of television projects, including the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts)-nominated The Long Firm, The Gathering Storm, Merlin, Loved Up and Band of Gold.

In 2006 she starred in the box office hit film 300, as Queen Gorgo. Zack Snyder directed Headey opposite Gerard Butler in this film about the real-life battle of Thermopylae, in which King Leonidas (Butler) and 300 Spartan warriors fought the massive Persian army, leading to Greece uniting and giving rise to democracy.

In 2007 she played a teacher, Miss Dickinson, in St. Trinian's, the contemporary update of the popular 1950s film franchise about an all-girls' school. The film also stars Rupert Everett and Colin Firth.

In 2008 she appeared in the psychological horror film The Brøken, in which she stars as a woman whose life is thrown into turmoil when she sees her exact double on the streets of London, and The Red Baron.

She co-produced and appears in the short film The Devil's Wedding by director Dan Cadan, alongside the star of This is England, Steve Graham. She also stars alongside Jamie Foreman and Bill Sykes in Roman Polanski's Oliver Twist.

Her previous credits include the horror thriller The Cave, the fantasy-adventure The Brothers Grimm and the British romantic comedy Imagine Me & You.

Headey dated actor Jason Flemyng for nine years. She and Flemying met during the filming of The Jungle Book.

She married Pete Paul on May 19, 2007 and is close friends with actress Piper Perabo, her co-star in The Cave and Imagine Me & You.

She is currently a resident of California, USA.
