Linus Roache is an English actor best known for his role as Dr. Thomas Wayne, father of Batman, in Batman Begins (2005); and as Executive Assistant District Attorney Michael Cutter in the police procedural television series Law & Order (2008–2010) and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2011–2012).

He also has a starring role as King Ecbert of Wessex, ruler of the largest of the five kingdoms in England with big plans to make it even larger, in the period drama television series Vikings.

His acting career began when he was a child, appearing for two weeks on the soapie Coronation Street in 1975. He first gained worldwide recognition in Antonia Bird's critically-acclaimed film, Priest.

His numerous film credits include Wings of a Dove, Batman Begins, The Namesake and Blind Flight, for which he received a Best Actor nomination from the Scottish BAFTA. He also played the lead role in Pandaemonium, for which he won the Best Actor award at the Evening Standard Film Awards.

In addition, he completed roles in Innocence for Killer Films and in Jaume Collet-Serra's Non-Stop, opposite Liam Neeson.

On the small screen, Roache received a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of Robert Kennedy in RFK and co-starred in HBO's The Gathering Storm. Additional television roles include Kidnapped and the miniseries Titanic.

His extensive theatrical experience includes work with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He also appeared in Richard II and Coriolanus opposite Ralph Fiennes at London's Almeida Theatre and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
