Heather Burns (born in 1974) is an American actress who has appeared in a number of films with Sandra Bullock, including Miss Congeniality 1 and 2, and Two Weeks Notice.
She stars as Stella Mason, John Mason's (John Lithgow) daughter, on the television comedy Twenty Good Years.
Burns' first major role was in Nora Ephron's film You've Got Mail. Her other feature film credits include Miss Congeniality, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous, Two Weeks Notice and Bewitched.
In the independent world, she can be seen in The Groomsmen, written and directed by Edward Burns and starring Burns, Brittany Murphy and John Leguizamo; and Kill the Poor, produced by John Malkovich and directed by Alan Taylor.
In 2006 she wrote, produced and starred in the movie Ashes and appeared in Watching the Detectives, starring Lucy Liu and Cillian Murphy.
On television, Burns starred in The Beat, opposite Mark Ruffalo, and The $treet, and she had a guest-starring role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Burns graduated from the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School through the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
She has since returned in All Things Considered, directed by David Pittu, and Writer's Block, directed by Woody Allen. She also starred in James Lapine's play Fran's Bed, at Playwrights Horizons Theatre, opposite Mia Farrow and Julia Stiles.
Burns has twice worked with writer Kenneth Lonergan - in Lobby Hero, directed by Marc Brokaw at Playwrights Horizons and the John Houseman Theatre; and in London's West End production of This Is Our Youth, opposite Freddie Prinze Jr. and Chris Klein.
