Polly Walker is an English actress best known for her television roles as Atia of the Julii in the HBO/BBC2 series Rome (2005-2007) and as Ellis Samuels in the drama series Cane, in 2007.

Her role in Rome earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama.

She also starred as Sister Caprice Willow in the science fiction television series Caprica, from 2009-2010.

Walker began her career as a dancer, but had to abandon dancing after an injury at the age of 18. She moved from London Drama Centre to the Royal Shakespeare Company, where she played bit parts for six months before graduating to small roles on television.

She has had roles in the television shows Storyboard (her screen debut in 1989), Poirot, State Of Play, Cane and Waking The Dead.

She also played the title role in the 1990 made-for-TV movie Lorna Doone. Her other made-for-TV movie credits are The Kremlin, Farewell (1990), A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia (1990), Jeffrey Archer: The Truth (2002), The Mayor of Casterbridge (2003) and the upcoming Marple: At Bertram's Hotel (2007).

Rounding out her television credits was a role in the 1989 mini-series Rules Of Engagement.

Walker has appeared in numerous feature films as well, including Sliver (1993), Emma (1996), Robinson Crusoe (1997), Dark Harbor (1998), 8 ½ Women (1999), D-Tox (2002), Control (2004) and Scenes of a Sexual Nature (2006).

She has two children from two previous relationships, Giorgio (b. 1994) and Delilah (b. 2000).
