Bio
Best known for playing Hart Jessup on The Guiding Light for three years, Frank Grillo grew up in upstate New York as the eldest of three children.
He got his first taste of acting in high school, where he was in many plays, but he was also a gifted athlete and his dream was to play sports professionally.
His parents had other ideas, however, and he graduated from New York University with a business degree. He spent one year on Wall Street before a chance meeting with a casting director landed him a job in a beer commercial.
Frank appeared in 25 commercials and guest-starred on the TV shows Silk Stalkings and Poltergeist: The Legacy before joining the cast of The Guiding Light in 1996.
After leaving Guiding Light, Frank had roles in the pilots Fiona and Legacy and in the series Wasteland, Battery Park and For the People, where he played Det. J.C. Hunter.
He also played Officer Paul Jackson in several episodes of The Shield and appeared in guest roles in Karen Sisco, The District, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Without A Trace and Las Vegas.
He went on to play the regular role of Det. Marty Russo on Blind Justice and Nick Savrinn in Fox’s Prison Break.
His film credits include The Sweetest Thing, Minority Report, April's Shower and Pride and Glory.
Frank lives in Los Angeles and New York. He has been married to actress Wendy Moniz since 28 October 2000.
He has two sons - one by his first wife Kathy Grillo, and one by Moniz.
