Joseph R. Gannascoli is an American actor best known for his role as Vito Spatafore on the television series The Sopranos, appearing in 42 episodes from 1999-2006.
Gannascoli was a guest actor on the show prior to the sixth season, whereupon he was promoted to a main credited cast member.
He has appeared in a number of movies, including Goodfellas, Ed Wood, Blowfish and Mickey Blue Eyes.
In 2005 Gannascoli participated in the celebrity weight-loss reality show, Celebrity Fit Club. He lost 14 kilograms and was a member of the winning team.
Prior to acting, Gannascoli attended St. John's University for two years and majored in communications. He then learned culinary art and opened a restaurant, Soup As Art Restaurant in Brooklyn. |
