Larry Drake is an American actor best known for his role as Benny Stulwicz on the television legal drama L.A. Law from 1987 until the show's end in 1994, for which he won two consecutive Emmy Awards (1988 and 1989).
He also had a leading role in the short-lived television show Prey in 1998.
Other television shows Drake has appeared in include Hardcastle and McCormick, Hunter, The Outer Limits, Star Trek: Voyager, Stargate SG-1, Six Feet Under, Firefly, Crossing Jordan, Justice League, and 7th Heaven.
He has also had notable roles in feature films such as Darkman (1990), Dr. Giggles (1992), Bean (1997), Paranoia (1998), Inferno (1999), American Pie 2 (2001), and I Will Avenge You, Iago! (2005).
In 2005 he had a role in the Emmy-winning made-for-TV movie Mrs. Harris. |

As a result of his role as Benny on L.A. Law, Drake has said that strangers would often treat him as Benny Stulwicz:
"People were always coming up to me and treating me like I was slow. I would have to tell them 'I'm not really retarded, the character I play on TV is retarded.' It was actually pretty flattering because it showed that these people thought my acting was really that convincing." |
