Hannes Muller (born 1961) is a South African actor and director known primarily for his work in theatre, particularly as the lad character in the stage play Groet die Grotman (Greet the Caveman).

He has acted in numerous television series as well including Meester, Generations, Iemand om lief te he, Deafening Silence, Onder Draai die Duiwel Rond, Parys Parys and Donkerland.

Born in the Free State in 1961, he matriculated in 1978 from Sasolburg High School. He joined the SADF in 1979 and was commissioned as an officer.

After his national service he enrolled in Potchefstroom University for a Drama degree. After a post grad diploma at the end of 1984 he made his professional debut at the then SWAPAC arts council in Windhoek.

In 1985 he was appointed to the permanent company at PACOFS and was part of the opening season of the Sand du Plessis Theatre complex. In 1986 he was a founder member of the Octagon group that staged the successful Somewhere on the Border.

In January 1988 he joined PACT and stayed as a senior member of the company and later as a resident Director until the disbanding of the company in 1997.

Along with nine other professionals he formed the Independent Performers Trust and for four years created and performed stage productions nationwide.

At the end of 2000 he was appointed as a director of the M-Net soaop opera Egoli and recorded approximately 500 episodes in five years. He then joined the production team of another M-Net soapie, Binnelanders, for the first three years of the production as a multi cam director.

Hannes has acted in numerous feature films and television movies including The Visual Bible, The One That Got Away, Jackie Chan's Who Am I?, Hooded Angels, Stander, Hoofmeisie, Angus Buchan's Ordinary People, Glory Glory and Natie's Garage.

In 2013 he was a starring cast member of the kykNET period drama Donkerland.
