Bio

Mark Povinelli is an American actor and stuntman best known for his starring role as Todd, Chelsea's quick-witted and over-qualified colleague at the sports bar, in the short-lived television sitcom Are You There, Chelsea?, in 2012.

Over his acting career, he has appeared in dozens of films and television shows, numerous theatre productions and dozens of national commercials, proving himself capable of spanning the entire range of medium, style and genre from New York theatre to studio films, from slapstick comedy to heartfelt drama, and from broad caricature to quiet realism.

Povinelli starred opposite Robert Pattinson and Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz in the Fox 2000 film Water for Elephants, playing the iconic role of Kinko. The film was adapted from the New York Times best-seller.

Povinelli's other film credits include Epic Movie, Polar Express, Van Helsing and Beer for My Horses. Television appearances include Modern Family, Boardwalk Empire, Cold Case, 'Til Death, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Pushing Daisies, Charmed, Frasier, Dharma & Greg and The Parkers.

Povinelli toured the world as Torvald Helmer in the OBIE Award-winning production of Mabou Mines' DollHouse, an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's classic. Other theatre credits include the premiere of Belle Epoque at Lincoln Center as the lead role of Henri Toulouse-Lautrec.

Additionally, Povinelli has worked regionally at the Shakespeare Theatre, Children's Theatre Company, Radio City Music Hall, Oklahoma Lyric Theatre, Will Geer Theatricum and UCLA Live.

He stands 3'9½" and weighs 75 pounds (115 cm, 34 kg) as a consequence of spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita (SEDc), a skeletal dysplasia caused by a mutation in the COL2A1 (type II collagen) gene.

When Povinelli is not working, he dedicates his time to Little People of America, an organisation that promotes awareness, advocacy and medical assistance for individuals with forms of dwarfism.

He resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
