Bio
Bruce Little is a South African actor, singer, writer, comedian and vocal coach best known as one of the starring cast members of the SABC3 satirical sketch comedy series Sketch U Later, in 2012.
Bruce graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2001 with a BA in Theatre and performance and a Fleur Du Cap nomination for most promising student. He previously attended Kingswood College in Grahamstown and The National School of the Arts in Braamfontein.
Since then he appeared in productions such as Naked Boys Singing, directed by Cole Cameron; Janice Honeyman's Madiba Magic, which premiered at the Grahamstown Festival of 2003; Theatre For Africa and Nicholas Ellenbogen's 2004 production of She Stoops to Conquer (Mistakes of an African Knight); the title role in Peter Krummeck's PANSA award winning drama Ivirgin Boy, which also premiered at the Grahamstown festival in 2006; and in the beginning of 2007 he played Mickey Mortis in the Cape Town run of Fangs alongside Bill Flynn, Tobie Cronje and Michael Richards.
He performed in Pieter Toerien's production of Hair as the notorious Margaret Mead, directed by Paul Warrick Griffin and joined the cast of Rent as a member of the ensemble for the Cape Town run in 2007, directed by Anthony Rapp.
Bruce has worked as a contributing writer and member of the gag squad on M-Net's Laugh Out Loud and appeared in a small role in the SABC drama series The Lab.
Highlights of his career include performing alongside dancers and singers as one of only two actors from all over Africa in the World Summit on Arts and Culture 2009, under the direction of Brett Bailey.
Bruce's self-created works include the acclaimed "kwaito cabaret" The Stabani show with all original material and music co created with Z. Upton, which was performed at various venues and festivals throughout the Western Cape. He also penned and performed the "Homofabulous" show Little Poof!, directed by Neels Clasen and musically directed by Cathrine Hopkins which toured nation-wide and enjoyed a fruitful run at the 2010 National Arts festival in Grahamstown.
Bruce has worked as a communications Facilitator for Speak Easy Facilitators and has helped professionals develop their communications skills in the business world.
In the beginning of 2009 he returned from a three-month London tour of the dinner circus show Madame Zingara as the stilt-walking master of ceremonies in the guise of the Greek God Pan.
He has MC'd for various concerts and beauty pageants such as the Cape Tech Smirnoff Bash 2005, Miss Tertiary Feel 2006 and has performed as an actor, facilitator and brand ambassador for various corporate theatre and industrial theatre companies, including Take Away theatre company, Fusion Worx, Winwin Group and Comment, for clients such as SAB, Old Mutual, AP Moeller Maersk, Media 24, Western Cape Dept. Of Education, Play energy drink, Bacardi and Marco Polo Sandton City.
Originally from Mafikeng, he currently resides in Johannesburg.
