Alex Borstein is an American actress, singer, voice actress, writer and comedienne best known for her roles on the FOX sketch comedy series MADtv and as the voice of Lois Griffin in the animated series Family Guy.
She was seen in Killers alongside Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl and Dinner for Schmucks with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd.
Her additional feature film credits include Good Night, and Good Luck, Little Man, The Lookout and Catwoman, as well as Kicking & Screaming, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Coyote Ugly, Showtime, Bad Boy and Bad Santa.
Borstein serves as a consulting producer on the cable series Shameless. Her critically heralded one-woman stand-up show, Drop Dead Gorgeous (In a Down-to-Earth Bombshell Sort of Way), is available on DVD.
After graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in rhetoric, Borstein started performing improv and later joined the ACME Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles.
