The auditions wrapped last year and now the time has arrived for the Top 12 finalists to prove why they landed a spot.

Season 2 of Top Actor premieres on BET this Tuesday (1 March) at 19h30 so we've reloaded our original article on Who's Who in the Top 12 as a refresh so that you can get to know everyone before the show starts.

As we've mentioned, the first season only featured hopefuls from South Africa but the new season has expanded to include contestants from Kenya and Nigeria so the series is now known as Top Actor Africa.

Actress Zikhona Sodlaka returns to host and the format remains the same. Each week contestants need to prove that they have the acting chops to stay in the competition as they take on various acting challenges that involve tackling different genres. Some will laugh, many will cry and one will win.

The prize: $10,000 and a one-year contract with an international agent which will give them access to Hollywood auditions.
