Season 4

From 1986 to 1994 one of the most popular shows on TV was LA Law, where the battles in (and out) of the courtroom provided intrigue, drama and laughs week in and week out.

The highly strung and driven attorneys at McKenzie Brackman Chaney and Kuzak (later to become McKenzie Brackman Chaney Kuzak and Becker, and then McKenzie Brackman Chaney and Becker, and finally McKenzie Brackman Becker Kelsey Markowitz and Morales) fought opponents and each other as they competed to become the best of the best and be recognised by their peers as lawyers to be reckoned with, often having to question their morals and whether they were prepared to sacrifice them to succeed.

The sexual tension, office politics and highly volatile staff meetings set the scene for some of the best quality television of the late eighties and the critics agreed, LA Law won the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series in 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1991. Larry Drake also won an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Emmy for his performance in 1988 and 1989.

The familiar opening theme showed a Bentley with the license plate LA Law, this image is still easily identifiable and recognised today, more than 10 years after the shows end.
