Season 1
Curious Culture is a South African magazine show about the South African art scene. It is hosted by Jerry Mofokeng and Portia Joel (the first season was co-hosted by Shelley Meskin).
The series premiered on SABC3 on Sunday 5 June 2005, at 12h30.
Synopsis
Presented in English, Sotho and Afrikaans, the show covers fine art, dance, music, acting, literature, theatre and photography. The work of both mainstream and fringe artists from different disciplines is showcased and their artistic processes are revealed.
The show also highlights art happenings and gallery openings, Jerry and Portia try their hand at artistic expressions and a talent scout segment encourages artists to get in touch for the opportunity to be featured on the show.
